Good afternoon BCWCID#2 Customers,
Below is an important message from the General Manager, Paul Hightower regarding the District’s current Water Conservation Stage and the Notification Alerts program.
Water Conservation Update:
After a long, stressful and tedious couple of weeks, we are pleased to announce that the District is returning to Stage 1 Water Conservation. Stage 1 is a voluntary stage. There are currently NO MANDATORY requirements in place. See the details below.
Stage I Triggers – Mild Water Shortage Conditions
A. Requirements for Initiation
Customers shall be requested to voluntarily conserve water and adhere to the prescribed requirements and restrictions on certain non-essential water uses, defined in Article II B Definitions, when daily water demand exceeds 85% of total production capability for three (3) consecutive days or water demand approaches a educed delivery capacity for all or part of the system, and President of the Board of Directors or his/her designee determines that no circumstances exist that will decrease the demand except conservation by customers.
Notification & Alerts:
BCWCID#2 signed an agreement this week to add text message capability to our new software system. We received positive feedback from customers when we used Bastrop County’s Reverse 911 system to send the text alerts out for the boil water notice. We were extremely thankful to the Bastrop County Dispatch for allowing us to use their system for this. It was huge help for us.
We are also working to get customers switched over to the new email alerts. Right now, we have 2 email systems in place so you may be getting extra emails, and we apologize for this. We will be working over the next several weeks to get everyone transitioned to the new system. If you have any questions regarding the NEW email system, please contact the office. Please pay attention to your emails for further information regarding this exciting update!
The District Thanks our customers for their support and patience through this entire process. We are working very hard to make it better for everyone. If there are any questions, please call the office at 512-321-1688.
Thank you.
Paul Hightower, General Manager
